Yesterday, a blackbird, disoriented from the feeding station dangling out side the kitchen window, flew into our third-floor flat in the centre of Paris. It flitted frantically for a few minutes, mildly disturbing the two lazy cats, who did not budge, and found its way out the window again.
For too long, desperately feeble moments such as those have been my only connection to nature, and that is finally about to change. All going according to plan, come September, I shall be leaving Paris and moving a bit south to a house (shown above) in the countryside, where I hope to dedicate all of my time to research, writing, and illustration. This summer will be hectic and blogging will, I am afraid, be erratic. Once I am settled, however, I plan to launch many new programmes and themes here.
Thank you for your patience.
