At long last, it seems that more attention is being given to the rescue and preservation of what remains of the magnificent Atlantic Rainforest. There is quite a lot going on in terms of preservation, and much of it includes educational material. Here are some of the sites in English:
- The Natural History Museum has an article about the amazing biodiversity of the Atlantic Rainforest
- The Iracambi Farm works with local children. The website has an English page. They may be willing to start a cooperative nature observation project with schools.
- The World Land Trust is working with REFUA in Brazil to protect the Atlantic Rainforest and has a lot of information about the animals of that rainforest.
- The Nature Conservancy has a large project to replant the Atlantic Rainforest. The webpage has information and a video.
- The best of the new endeavors, with the most pictures and videos is the Atlantic Rainforest Institution
Visiting these sites will help you learn more about the Atlantic Rainforest and seasons in one part of the southern hemisphere.
